FAQ

What is the purpose of the platform?

The COVID-19 MedTech Analytics Platform designed to serve as a comprehensive database of the most relevant entities, technologies, and developments in the COVID-19 MedTech ecosystem, aggregating, profiling and visualizing the companies, organizations, scientists and technologies at the forefront of neutralizing the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring the health and safety of individuals and nations during this time of unprecedented crisis. The platform aims to cover all major sectors and relevant activities in the global COVID-19 MedTech landscape from science to technology, R&D, treatment, diagnostic and vaccine development, and practical applications occurring globally, providing data on particular scientific and technological sectors and geographical regions.

What makes it different from other databases?

Firstly, its scope. The platform aggregates, categorizes and visualizes data across the entire COVID MedTech ecosystem, all the way from basic science toward R&D and practical applications, categorizing and individually profiling companies, investors, scientists, labs, universities, R&D hubs, funding agencies, clinical trials, patents, and scientists papers. It is designed to serve as a one-stop informational resource for current developments in the COVID MedTech ecosystem across its entire scope, comprehensively profiling and categorizing entities, individuals and technologies within the global COVID MedTech landscape both by sector and practical application, as well as by geographical region.

Secondly, its scale. In collecting both third-party lists and manually-curated databases, the platform is able to offer visualized, categorized lists, MindMaps and individual profiles on a remarkably large number of entities, individuals and technologies. The platform is in an ongoing state of expansion, and its scale is intended to continue growing.

Thirdly, its use of the sophisticated IT-solutions and Interactive MindMap and Data Visualization capabilities that Deep Knowledge Analytics has developed over the past several years in order to position itself as the leader of quantitative and multidimensional Deeptech and Frontier Technology analytics. The use of these interactive visualization techniques enables users of the platform to gain a deeper understanding of the full landscape in any given scientific, technological, industrial or regional category in a more efficient manner.

What are your future plans for the platform?

The platform is intended to be used on an ongoing basis as an analytical toolset for interested parties to derive action-oriented insights and answers to questions relating to the current situation of COVID-19 (such as vaccine and treatment development, for example, or the currently available scope of preventive technologies), potential industry partners, and more.

The database is in a continuous state of development, and Deep Knowledge Group intends to expand on an ongoing basis its breadth and depth, the scale and scope of its scientific and technological sectors, the number of specific regions it covers, and the overall quantity of entities that it profiles and visualizes.

In addition to this, the group will also be unveiling enhanced features, including extensive filter and search functions, allowing everybody from the general public to responsible decision makers to use the platform to derive action-based answers and insights to key questions at the heart of national strategic decision making to optimize outcomes in the wake of the current global COVID-19 pandemic.

In the longer term, Deep Knowledge group will be adding rankings to the various types of entities profiled and visualized on the platform utilizing similar analytical methodologies that the group has applied to its Global COVID-19 Rankings in order to quantitatively assess the effectiveness of companies, labs, scientists, technologies and other entities in neutralizing the current COVID-19 pandemic, to be used as a tool-set for identifying best practices that can be adopted in order to reduce infection spread, improve patient outcomes and to hasten humanity’s journey towards a stable and positive post-pandemic era.

How can I suggest an addition or modification to the platform?

In the longer term the platform is intended to serve as a distributed knowledge system, crowdsourcing additional data from relevant experts. While Deep Knowledge Group has already aggregated data from multiple reputable public sources and qualified experts within its existing network, we remain open to contributions from experts and specialists interested in expanding the scope and reach of the platform. Interested individuals can submit new entries for review by using the following form:
