In the MENA region, the UAE has been at the forefront of the Longevity sector, which was estimated to be worth more than $21 billion in 2022.

Utilising her investment relations and business development expertise in developing the report, Anastasia Lit, Director of Investor Relations, Europe & MENA, Deep Knowledge Group said: “Some 25 years ago when the life sciences industry emerged in the UAE, the main drivers of growth were the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. From the outset, the UAE has been leading the region’s life sciences domain, realising its vision of achieving world-class healthcare infrastructure and services. We look forward to extending our partnership with SRTIP in order to develop and launch several other reports in the near future.”

One of the big opportunities to achieve this is by increasing research and development. SRTIP is playing a key role in helping Sharjah contribute to and align with the UAE’s Vision 2021 and beyond.”

Life Science Industry in the UAE mindmap

‘Life Sciences in the UAE’ presents a unified industry framework based on a vast industry database comprising 420+ companies, 90+ investors, 6 government organisations, and 15+ R&D centres.

With the key objectives to educate, inform, and empower various stakeholders including government officials, startup founders, entrepreneurs and investors about the UAE’s Life Sciences’ trends and advances, the event highlighted the existing and potential government policies, and provided an overview of underlying economic and financial data.

The talk also provided a platform for industry stakeholders to gain access to insights into the longevity sector, enabling them to develop their knowledge, thereby facilitating their strategic decision-making efforts.

Last year, SRTIP and DKA announced a first-of-a-kind strategic partnership aimed at mapping the Longevity Industry in the UAE, fostering knowledge of relevant sectors locally and internationally, developing comprehensive stakeholder engagement, identifying major drivers of the industry across the country, and ultimately developing in coordination with relevant government institutions robust national Longevity policies to maximise the health and wealth of the nation, while preparing future leaders to advance Longevity as a key component of the country’s future strategic agenda.

SRTIP is envisaged as a home to knowledge intensive businesses. By leveraging the intellectual, academic and business capabilities of the local ecosystem the Park hopes to attract leading companies, providing a platform for research into water technologies, renewable energy, environmental technology, digitisation, production design and architecture, and transport and logistics. By providing this platform for innovative startups and established companies to enter or expand in the region, the Park has the potential to position Sharjah as a regional and global leader in innovation and job creation.

DKA has issued several analytical reports about the Longevity industry. As DKG’s flagship DeepTech-focused analytical subsidiary, DKA has issued reports in coordination with several governmental bodies, including the UK All-Parties Parliamentary Groups on AI and Blockchain.

DKG’s flagship Longevity-focused analytical subsidiary, Aging Analytics Agency, was founded in 2013 as the first dedicated source of Longevity market intelligence and comparative analytics, and has produced dozens of open-access analytical reports, IT-Platforms and Big Data Analytical Dashboards on different technological, sector-based and regional domains of the Global Longevity Ecosystem. The company currently serves as an Official Member Organisation of the United Nations NGO Committee on Ageing, a Strategic Partner of the Metabesity Conference Series in Washington D.C. (the largest Longevity-focused conference in the USA), and a Founding Partner of the original UK All-Party Parliamentary Group for Longevity Secretariat in 2019.
